The International Journal of Prevention Practice and Research is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high quality articles reporting the development and results of community-driven prevention programs, innovative community/campus partnerships that seek to prevent or mediate health compromising behaviors, community-engaged research that creates tangible products or directly translational results, or other prevention practice and research projects developed with and for communities.  The goal of the International Journal of Prevention Practice and Research is to further scientific discoveries that protect population health by fostering academic and community discourse across the spectrum of community-based prevention practice and research.  Community involvement in the preparation of articles is required for publication in the International Journal of Prevention Practice and Research.
 
The International Journal of Prevention Practice and Research is interested in publishing original articles in areas that include, but are not limited to:
 
 
Prevention Practice
  • innovative community-based prevention programs
  • recruitment strategies for “hard to reach” populations
  • synthesis of program methods for “at-risk” populations
  • evaluations of community-based programs
 
Prevention Research
  • results of community needs and assets assessments
  • processes of community/campus research partnerships
  • efficacy of community-based prevention interventions
 
Cross-Cutting Issues
  • ethical considerations for community/campus partnerships
  • barriers to productive community/campus partnerships
  • campus recognition (i.e., tenure and promotion) of products resulting from community/campus partnerships
  • recommendations to improve reciprocal and authentic community/campus partnerships
